Thank goodness we’ve learned something in 30 years!
Here’s how Carolyn Rovner of C2 Style put it for the audience at the 2012 Diablo Women Fashion Show, which was themed as 2012’s nod to the fashion of the 1980’s:
“Whether you were a student or a young professional, or maybe a new Mom – you had the privilege of experiencing the fashions of the ’80s first hand. Whether you were preppy or punk or into the Madonna look or wore the giant shoulder pads from Dynasty… Guess what – it’s all coming back.”
Thankfully, she offered hope.
“Like us,” said Rovner, “the trends have mellowed.”
Judging by the clothes the models took to the Diablo Women runway, she’s right. (And what a relief, right?)
The looks were fun and real – items you’d actually find real women wearing!
Our favorite? That was easy… only two women wore glasses!
The two models in Georgiou Studio outfits walked onto the stage, turned their back to the audience long enough to flip on super sunglasses.
Viola! Instantaneously, the look took on a more adventurous appeal.
Further proof in what we’ve always known – eye wear is a powerful fashion accessory.
Gotta love that!
