No. Art and Science of Eyewear is a dispensing optical boutique owned by and staffed with certified dispensing opticians. Eye exams are performed by your eye doctor, who is typically either an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
As your certified dispensing opticians, we fill the eyewear prescription your eye doctor writes, the way a pharmacist might fill your medicine prescriptions.
Our sole focus is on providing the best selection of high quality state of the art optical lenses and frames – and having the experience and expertise to find just the right combination of those to create the perfect pair of glasses for you. Our work takes into account not only your vision needs but also your viewing habits, posture and personal style.
Art and Science of Eyewear has been Lafayette’s best dispensing optical boutique for nearly 2 decades. While many of our customers live in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek and Alamo, some clients travel from further reaches of the Bay Area because of the level of service we provide since it is increasingly difficult to find.
Many of our clients carry some form of vision insurance. While we do not process insurance claims directly, we provide the supporting documents that you will need to initiate any eyewear reimbursements your vision plan provides.
